Field Notes

Description:

Inner halves of both wings are colored with yellow-brown bands, which are visible in flight. Thorax is reddish brown with brown hairs. Black side triangles on abdomen are low, forming a jagged line. Top of the abdomen is red. Legs all black

Habitat:

ponds and marshes with slow current

Notes:

Spotted along the Otter Tail River at the Chippewa Picnic Area on #26.
