Project NOAH Fact of the Day: The tamarind is a long-lived, medium-growth, leguminous, bushy tree with evergreen leaves. The tamarind tree produces edible, pod-like fruit that is used in cuisines around the world. It is also used in traditional medicine and metal polish; and the wood can be used in carpentry. Because of the tamarind's many uses, cultivation has spread around the world in tropical and subtropical zones. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamarind
