Description:

Grey Palm Weevil with black spots. The distal half of the proboscis is black, about 1.5 cm long. Family Curculionidae, Subfamily Dryophthorinae.

Habitat:

Huasteca Forest, Edward James Surrealism Park, Xilitla, San Luis Potosí.

Thank you thaptor! The Rhodobaenus are full of challenges!
Now, with more experience on them, and relevant papers in my possession, I can do it! = Rhodobaenus stigmaticus (Fahraeus, 1845) (ID beyond doubt; no look-alike occurs in Mexico, and the small spot on sides is wanting in all of them)
