Description:
A white oak here at the college gardens. Despite the name, white oak bark is mostly gray, and it gets that name from the finished lumber it produces. White oaks are incredibly long lived trees, with some being found at ages of 450 years.
Habitat:
Native to eastern and central North America and found from Minnesota, Ontario, Quebec, and southern Maine south as far as northern Florida and eastern Texas.
