Field Notes

Description:

This sea star was about one foot long. Each of the "legs" were about 4 inches long. It was a pale yellow color, with many brown dots on the body and the legs. On the tip of each leg was a large brown dot.

Habitat:

This was found in 3-inch-deep water off a sandy beach on a small island near Batam, Indonesia. It was situated about a kilometer near a village.
