Description:

Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume) Miq. (Lamiaceae / Labiatae), commonly known as Cat's Whiskers or Java Tea. The plant is a medicinal herb, and is also used in landscaping to attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to its nectar.

Habitat:

Mount Makiling Forest Reserve in Los Baños, Laguna. It is found in forest margins, thickets, regrowths, grasslands and along forest borders and roadsides, often in shaded not too dry localities, but also in sunny places, at elevations up to 1,000 meters. Its distribution range includes Philippines, and also throughout southern China, the Indian Subcontinent, South East Asia and tropical Queensland.
