Field Notes

Description:

Small wasp often seen around windows frames and places where there are little holes to make a nest in. They eat the nectar and honeydew from aphids.

Habitat:

Spotted this one sitting on a Mandarin in the garden but are often trying to make a nest in the frames of the windows.

Notes:

First seen in New Zealand in Auckland around 1987 and now found throughout much of New Zealand.
