Field Notes

Description:

A female wood duck with only 3 ducklings left. They typically start from 7 to 15. There are many different predators at this park, but especially crows. I don't think it is a coincidence that her head reflection on the water mimics her ducklings (better seen in pic 2).

Habitat:

Spotted in one of the wetlands at Flaming Geyser State Park.
