Description:

Ornamental and showy flowers.

Habitat:

Right at the entrance of the War cemetery at Kandy. The blood red flowers are stunning.

Notes:

Wikipedia says that the tree is native to Burma (Myanmar). The name Amherstia honours one Lady Amherst, and also her daughter Sarah.
