Field Notes

Description:

You could almost hear this warthog shouting 'Hakuna Matata' as he hunted for grubs and grazed on the grass of the Ngorongoro crater! apparently they favour eating on their knees when the grass is short so that they get get right down to the roots digging them out with their curved front canines. Although its main predators are Lion, Leopard, crocodile and Hyenas they are capable of fighting back with their tusks and have to be known to cause fatal puncture wounds to big cats.

Habitat:

Seen In Ngorongoro crater, tanzania

Notes:

This photo isnt cracked but the hair on the warthog is very patchy with grey skin underneath giving an impression of a fault in the photo.
