Field Notes

Description:

Big spider with black thorax and legs, and a bright rusty red abdomen with a bold vertical stripe.

Habitat:

Spotted in two locations within an hour of each other. The first 3 photos are of a spider spotted in the woods between two old fields. The last photo is of a different individual which was found on the siding of my house.

Notes:

I seen several of these on this particular day for some reason (season, heat, humidity level, dry weather?)
