Description:

A very large hairy spider, 5 cm body length. Sitting on leaves about waist-high in the forest. Family Ctenidae, the Wandering Spiders. These are supposedly highly aggressive and venomous.

Habitat:

Huasteca Forest, Edward James Surealism Park, Xilitla, San Luis Potosí.

Thank you Chun, wish I had a sharper picture of the cephalothorax to show the groove typical of the family, and I wish I had taken a picture of the eyes.
Looks like a wandering spider (Ctenidae), Lauren. Maybe Anahita sp. ?
