Wolf Spider Family (sp)
Lycosidae sp
32.605, -84.883
Field Notes
Description:
Small spider, maybe the size of a quarter from leg to leg. Black thorax with single light brown stripe. Abdomen was textured in appearance, a combination of light and dark browns. Legs were banded all the way down. Missing 2 legs.
Habitat:
Spotted in West Central GA. Seemed to prefer lawn area.
Notes:
This is another spider not having a great life, down to 6 legs. This was a tiny spider crawling through some broadleaf crab grass. That's a pine squiggly behind it (the brown scaly thing... I cannot for the life of me find out what that's called.) Was able to get a nice close up picture of it, though the other two shots are sort of blurry. It wasn't happy with me disturbing it's space.
