Description:

Was watching the dry grass inside of a protected area set aside for burrowing owls, when a head popped out of a hole in the ground. Once I took out my camera to snap a few photos, it ran into the brush.

Habitat:

Dry grassland, with full sun. Lives inside a burrow in the ground.
