Field Notes

Description:

could this be a chanterelle? Itwas about 1¼" across and 2" high, grayish white inside and out, and forming a trumpet. In fact, it looks a lot likea "black trumpet chanterelle."

Habitat:

It was found on wet mud among leaf litter on a high bit of ground along the Amazon River.

Notes:

Sorry, I don't remember if it had gills, and I only had time for one photo!
