Description:

Yaupon is a bush to a smaller tree. Individual trees are either male or female. Female yaupon have bright red berries late fall into the winter. Spotted here is a yaupon flowering (photo 1), past the flowering stage (photo 2), and male yaupon (photo 3). All three photos were from the same location, about a few feet apart.

Habitat:

The yaupon examples are a part of a Oak Savana: Yaupon Mott along a new trail at Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge.,
