Field Notes

Description:

Rusty red legs and a cream-colored abdomen. These spiders build their nests at dusk and take them down in the morning by eating them. This spider was in the process of eating his web when I photographed him.

Habitat:

Georgia Piedmont / Indian Springs State Park - located under the eve of a building near a lake. Area heavily populated by pines.

Notes:

Cell phone photography, spider was smaller and high up, so it was difficult to focus and get a good, clear shot.
