Field Notes

Description:

A bark-colored Mantis with long wings in the classical "Praying Mantid" pose. The second and third pair of legs are green and the front raptorial legs are banded. The border of the wings and the thorax is also green. Long and thin and about 4 cm in length.

Habitat:

Found on a branch, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters elevation.
