It's funny. After someone posted a spotting of this at a park by my house that I go to very often, I started looking for these everytime I went. It took a while and some hard looking to finally found a couple. I was so thrilled (I think they are very cool looking). Then I go on this trip to check out this Lovers Key State Park on the oposite coast (last thing on my mind are these bugs) ...and then THIS, THE MOTHER LOAD!!! They were so many on several shrubs in this one area. You can tell the males from the females by the shape of the "thorn". Male pic 2,3 have the wide (orca fin like) ones. The female in pic 4,5 have the sharp point more thorn like one. Now see if you can spot the genders in the group pics.
