Sumatran Flying Dragon

Flying dragons, as gliding lizards are colloquially known, possess the ability to glide from tree to tree by virtue of a membrane on their abdomen known as the palaqium (visible in image 1). They are astonishingly adept at this 'flight', being able to glide distances of more than eight meters from tree to tree. Males possess a flap of skin underneath their throat which they flap in and out to attract females.
