Field Notes

Description:

After a very slight nudge, half of it fell off. It felt very delicate and papery. The top half had nothing in it. The second photo isn't great, but you can see the inside was whitish and full. You can also see what looks like the remnants of spider webs on it in the first photo, so perhaps it was a spider egg sac that got weakened from all the rain the area got in the preceding weeks. My camera died so I couldn't get better pictures of the inside.

Habitat:

On the side of a cliff made of clay at providence canyon

Notes:

I thought it was just a berry that someone had shoved into the dirt, but I didn't see any trees in the area that had fruits or seeds that look like this at all (mostly pine and maple).
