For me it's a jumping spider because the eyes pattern and the body shape!!! Wolf spiders has different abdomen shape.
It was about the size of a nickel

I like the "Habitat" description : ) I love spiders, but finding one inside might not be the best experience, especially when you just moved in. Btw, you should change the category from "Other" to "Arthropod."
How big is it? Looks like a wolf spider. Probably male. If it's a big critter, might be a Carolina Wolf Spider (Hogna carolinensis). http://bugguide.net/node/view/27062
