Field Notes

Description:

This moth was just doing circles on the ground at night. It's wings were not fully developed so it could not fly. The last image shows the size compared to an ant.

Habitat:

Oak woodland

Notes:

Females often have small wings. They are full of eggs so they have very large abdomens.
