Field Notes

Description:

This plant is 1 meter tall, and 1.1 meters from left to right. Its leaves are either oblong or ovate, and are 10 cm at their longest point and 5 cm at their widest point. Smaller leaves are about 6 cm by 4 cm. The leaf arrangement is opposite, and the leaf venation is netted pinnate. Its leaf margin is serrate, with large and small teeth alternating. I think it's more serrate than doubly serrate.

Habitat:

It is native to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore and occurs in lowland primary and secondary rainforests.
