Description:

4 1/2 to 5 inches the Pine Siskin is a dark streaked finch with a notched tail and small patches of yellow in the wings and tail. Usually in flocks, which have a distinctive flight pattern; the birds alternately bunch up and then disperse in undulating flight. These were hanging-out with groups of Common Redpolls (of up to 100)

Habitat:

Coniferous and mixed woodlands, alder thickets, and brushy pastures.
