Description:
Orange-brown mushroom with a cream-colored stipe. The gills were a beautiful cinnamon-orange color. Cap size was approximately 5cm.
Habitat:
Growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.
Notes:
Several mushrooms in this genus are poisonous and can cause acute tubulointerstitial nephritis, which is a disease that affects the kidneys and can lead to kidney failure. In addition, some species are actually lethal. Therefore, it is suggested that none of the mushrooms from this genus be consumed especially because it can be very difficult to distinguish between species.
