Description:

A fish jaw I spotted in Owhiro bay, Wellington NZ. I suppose it belonged to a Tarakihi (Nemadactylus macropterus), but I am not sure... Tarakihi fish is quite common, and very often the fishermen or campers cook it and eat it on the beach, usually disposing the bones to the sea...

Dear @ForestDragon I thought so too, but after some research, I realized it was a fish jaw...I just don't know which fish exactly...
Interesting find! This reminds me more of a piece of coral than a fish jaw. Very neat!
