Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized Robber Fly with Black and gray coloration on the body. Legs are black with reddish tibia. Long, pointed ovipositor on end of abdomen (for females only).

Habitat:

Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Semi-wooded area surrounded by a brackish water source. Resting on a wooden bench.
