Description:

medium sized with a robust brown body. Small stout proboscis. Legs dangle in flight causing confusion with a wasp. Lazy sluggish flight. tend to feed on slow moving flying insects like bees and crane flies. has a distinct abdominal contractions just after lighting.

Habitat:

Common on vegetation and trees common in gardens of Cape Town
