Description:
This Northern Cat-eyed Snake, with its long, slim tan body with crisp black markings was curled on a rock under the high veranda of my house, beneath a wheelbarrow. It was very calm, barely moved as I photographed for several minutes. The eyes have vertical pupils, looking very cat-like.
Habitat:
Surrounding habitat is rainforest, in the foothills of the Maya Mts. The weather was cool, in the 60s, and the snake didn't move all day, but was gone the next morning.
Notes:
The skinny body coupled with the big head and vertical pupils are great identifiers.
