Field Notes

Description:

Short to medium hairy perennial. Basal leave palmately-lobed, the lobes oval to lanceolate, toothed; stem leaves bract-like, unlobed or 3-lobed at apex. Flowers scarlet, pink or purple, often with a white or yellowish central zone, 30-60 mm, opening widely; 'petals' 7-12, oval, anthers bluish-black. (Blamey, M., & Grey-Wilson, C. (2008). Wild Flowers of the Mediterranean).

Habitat:

Meadow in Seih-Sou, the suburban forest of Thessaloniki (Greece).

Notes:

Greek names: Ανεμώνη η ταώνιος, Ανεμώνη η λάμπουσα.
