Brown Pansy

This butterfly was spotted in the rice mill backyard making short flights here and there, landing amongst the leaf litter and the few surviving weeds. At this time of year, the dry season is taking its toll and the plants can't replenish their foliage as fast as the surviving insects can eat it. The rains will not arrive until May or June.
