Field Notes

Description:

The sceleton of a yellowtail kingfish or southern kingfish (Warehenga -Seriola lalandi lalandi). It was a rather large fish, probably about 70-75 cm. It was spotted disposed in Houghton bay, Wellington NZ.

Notes:

It was spotted disposed in the grounds of Taputeranga Marine Reserve (see last pic). The place is supposed to be a totally protected marine reserve, but I guess poachers just do what they want without caring about the law or the environment. I hope they already catched them.
Taputeranga Marine Reserve includes the Red Quarry, Owhiro bay, Island bay and Houghton bay, and it is located in the south shores of Wellington.
