Field Notes

Habitat:

Cherry tree with lots of fruitm surrounded by thick forest.

Notes:

I observed that while feeding or resting the bulbul keeps its 'lore' folded onto its head, thereby giving an appearance of its absence. It immediately takes them out when playing, calling friends or singing. The lore and the red vent can be seen in the last photo.

Thanks pals for all the efforts. I'm a novice in birding, but this's a Bulbul with its typical sound of 'kyonn-ki, kyonn-ki zurey-li'. I've added another pic to show the 'lore'. I observed it keep its lore folded while feeding or resting. The two shades of photos're due to change in camera function. Thanks.
The beak looks very similar and so does the tail and the vent. It may be possible that the bird was wet and therefore the lore/cap,crest is not seen.
Hi! Wild Things. I was also thinking of Red vented bulbul, except the head and beak . this bird has a curved beak, the bulbul has a straight beak and the head of this bird is flat/ round. the red vented bulbul has a lore/ cap.
Looks like a Red-Vented Bulbul, please check.
Will someone assist with the i.d?. couldn't identify it in the field guides i have. waiting eagerly for i.d
