Description:

I keep wanting to call this a plover, but I swear it's bigger than a plover. But the faint white around the eyes suggests otherwise. Any ideas?

Ah well I didn't look at those species because I didn't think they'd be in the area still. I do remember this bird had black under its wings when it flew, so I'm going with the black-bellied plover. Thanks for the help!
The overall shape and stout bill suggest a Pluvialis species. I checked eBird and there are scattered sightings of American golden plover, and lots of sightings of black-bellied plover in your area. Still not sure.
