Field Notes

Description:

Yellow head (only partial) green body. Light colored beak and short tail. This is an endangered species. Seen resting in a tree with Red-crowned Parrots.

Habitat:

Was roosting with about 5 other species of parrots in the same park.

Notes:

Sorry for the poor quality. The branch got in my way and blurred the parrot.
Thirteen species of parrots are found in California and about 5 are found in this area. Unsure on exactly how these birds came here as none are native. They could be escapees or descendants of birds imported here for the pet bird trade legally or illegal.
