Field Notes
Description:
The Great Indian Bustard is one of India and in fact the world's most endangered bird species. Occurring in large numbers until recently, the population is down to less than 200 individuals due mainly to disturbance and loss of habitat. Sadly the future survival prospects for this magnificent bird are not looking good. This image was recently taken in Desert National Park near Jaisalmer.
