Thanks for your input and help, Sergio and Stephen. Are we certain about subspecies?
From Wiki Aves (https://www.wikiaves.com.br) - Sicalis flaveola flaveola (Linnaeus, 1766) - occurs in Colombia, Venezuela, Guianas and Trinidad. Introduced in Panama, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. Orange crown. Slightly greenish back and with few fine, almost imperceptible striae. Yellow lemon bottoms. Greater than S. f. brasiliensis. There are photos here: https://www.wikiaves.com.br/wiki/canario-da-terra
Two friends in South America have both confirmed Saffron Finch.
Sadly, Stephen, I do not! I know it’s tricky to ID this little one without additional photos. Thanks for checking in with your friend for me.
I've changed my mind!! Do you have any other photos? I'm checking with a friend in South America
