Field Notes

Description:

Similar to the previous 'Taxi' but distinct 'pointy' hind wings and nasty looking cigarette burns on the fore wings.

Habitat:

Under strong MV lights at night at the local school.

Notes:

Caterpillars are loopers and feed on Acacia dealbata. Sexually dimorphic, the female is much more dramatic in appearance, having wings with greater scalloping and some richly embroidered cells. She also has a silvery white pattern on the underside. The wingspan is about 30mm. Female spotted here https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/111826010 <br>
