Description:

From Audubon Brown anole
Description: 5-8 3/4" (13-21.3 cm). Extensible throat fan yellow to red-orange, with white line down center. Enlarged toe pads; short snout. Tan to dark brown; with dark-bordered, interconnected light diamonds or stripe down back; pattern fades in mature males to a uniform tan. Tail compressed, with prominent crest in male. No crest on back.

Different from Bark anole. From Audubon : 3 1/4-5" (9-12.7 cm). A slender lizard with yellow or pale orange extensible throat fan; enlarged toe pads, short snout. Gray, brown, or pale green; dark line between eyes, sometimes dark chevrons on back. Tail round or slightly compressed. No back crest.

Habitat:

Seen in Parking lot near Orlando

Habitat of Brown anole From Audubon : Trees, shrubs, fences, walls, lumber stacks, rock piles. Usually within 6' (2 m) of the ground.
Range: Introduced into peninsular Florida; native to Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas.

Habitat of Bark anole from Audubon: Arboreal. Vertical surfaces in partial or deep shade: tree trunks, limbs, vines, less frequently on walls.

Range: Introduced into southern Florida from Bahamas and Hispaniola.
