Field Notes

Description:

A large Leaf Footed Bug about 3 cm long. The prothoracic plate is expanded on the sides into wide phalanges that turn up slightly. All the femora of the legs are covered in white spots. In most of the pictures the bug is feeding with its proboscis firmly inserted into the stem of the plant. The edges of the abdomen are expanded and stripped. Family Coreidae.

Habitat:

Forest, Chorreadero Park, Chiapa de Corzo, Chiapas, Mexico.
