Description:

This eastern towhee has red eyes. Some have white eyes. This male loves to sing in the mornings. The male also does most of the feeding of the young. A black bird with red brown sides and white belly. Long black tail and white tip.

Habitat:

This eastern towhee was spotted in the marsh raking up leaf litter for insects and seeds and then hopping in a tree to sing his morning song. Shepard State Park, Gautier, Mississippi
