Field Notes

Description:

Large tan-brown beetle with black or dark brown stripe down the carapace where a spine would be it it had one. The shape of its antennae are like a trident or a three Tyne fork. About 20mm long and perhaps 12mm wide, black legs and belly.

Habitat:

In undergrowth beside Ferny Creek in Ferntree Gully Victoria Australia.

Notes:

Have bumped into this species of beetle 3 times this week of early February 2020.
