Field Notes

Description:

Similar to the Cliff Swallow in markings not color. Iridescent dark blue on upperparts. Rufous forehead patch, neck, rump with paler underparts except a dark blue collar. Tail is dark blue with white patches and long outer tail feathers.

Habitat:

Nests are more bowl shape made out of mud, found under bridges, overpasses, sheds and barns. Many times find them near water.
