Description:
•When closed, their wings look like leaves, good to hide from predators. When discovered, they open the wings and use the bright colors to scare the predator.
•They eat mainly nectar.
•Adults overwinter in hibernation, emerging on the first warm sunny days of the year to mate and breed.
Habitat:
Europe and Asia
There are some butterflies in New York City, but is belived that it is introduced
-I saw this butterfly in Hildesheim(Germany)
