Field Notes

Notes:

I saw this same goose last winter but I was never able to get close enough to get a shot. Only one I have ever seen with a white head and orange beak.

Different shaped head and neck. I'm guessing a hybrid - maybe white fronted goose
Not sure, just thought it was interesting since it was different.
It could be partial leucism like this bird here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_x29Pef-T4FQ/SURrsMl5rmI/AAAAAAAALVY/s-GB9my3Z5k/s1600-h/MN08+leucistic+Canadian+goose+107_0156.jpg but the bill color and neck "slits" indicate otherwise...
nvm...I was looking at this on a phone...you are right, it's not a snow goose...no grin and no apparent tertials either....however, the bill color is very odd...it this was to be a mutant canada goose, the bill should remain black...it's probably a canada x domestic (greylag) hybrid...
Yeah from the bottom of the neck down it matches the other geese.
Are you sure courtenyhitson? It could be just hanging around with the Canada Geese
It's also a Canadian goose. It comes with a flock. This is the second year it's been at the park.
The other is a snow goose
One of the geese is a Canada Goose but i think the other one is a different species.
