Field Notes

Description:

About 32mm from head to the wing tips. Mottled colouration in shades of brown and grey; two irregular dark bands on forewings and a dark spot on the side of the protonum. Very well camouflaged against the dry sandy soil. Makes a short series of buzzing sounds when jumping.

Habitat:

Found in 'El Cimatario', a national park in semi-arid area just outside the city. The rainy season is now in full swing and many animals are venturing out.
