Description:

Moths comprise a group of insects related to butterflies, belonging to the order Lepidoptera. Most species of moths are nocturnal, but there are also crepuscular and diurnal species. Moths frequently appear to circle around artificial lights, although the reason for this behavior remains unknown. Phylum: Arthopoda Class: Insecta Order: Lepidoptera - This moth was resting on a wall, below the garage door outside light. This moth was one half of an inch long. Moths have a head, thorax, and an abdomen. This moth had two, thread-like antennae. Moths have four wings, and six legs. Moths also have two compound eyes. The colors of this moths head, thorax, wings, and abdomen, was different shades of brown. It's six legs were banded. The end of each leg, was black in color. The banded colors on each leg, was black and then a lighter color. This moth was alive and able to move and fly.

Habitat:

I found this moth, resting on a wall, below the garage door, outdoor night light.

The colors of this moths head, thorax, abdomen, and wings, was different shades of brown. The six legs were banded. The ends of the six legs, was black in color. The banded colors on each leg, was black, and then a lighter color. This moth was alive, and able to move and fly.
