Field Notes

Description:

Common european all-black corvid, looking pretty much like raven, but smaller in size (some 50 cm in length).

Habitat:

Common in urban and rural settings; seen in cities and towns, parks, and agricultural fields. Here seen in several occasions in Lyon, France.

Notes:

Closely related to Hooded crow (Corvus cornix); two-colored species from east Europe and Asia.
