Description:
The moth is in the family (Crambidae) with a triangle shape to the wings. The moth has bright pink forewings with tan hindwings. The moth keeps it's antenna behind the head like most Crambid moths. Some moths have a darker wine color to the wings.
Habitat:
Semi-urban, Fort Worth, Texas. This species was found sitting on a Lantana plant. Most times this species lives around Sage bushes, (Salvia) that is their host plant. This behaviour is almost gregarious in a way. They also feed on the flowers of Salvia.
Notes:
It is found in United States, where it has been recorded from Arizona, California, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. It is also found in Mexico.
